Voltalef® PCTFE

Description

Voltalef® is crystalline Polychlorotrifluoroethylene. Crystallinity levels may range from 30% to 70%. Molded PCTFE with high crystallinity is a dense material with high mechanical strength and low elongation.

Properties

Voltalef® 302 PCTFE is thermally stable from -255°C up to +150°C and so defined as a superior cryogenic plastic. Voltalef® 302 PCTFE shows excellent chemical resistance to all mineral reactants and most organic reactants. PCTFE retains its excellent electrical properties in a high humidity environment and is non-flammable
Voltalef® 302 PCTFE is first and foremost a barrier material. With air, water, steam and many fluids (liquid gas), Voltalef® PCTFE has extremely low gas permeability.

Markets and applications

Voltalef® PCTFE is especially adapted to electrical insulation in adverse climates: tropical climates , marine conditions etc.
